On the afternoon of February 5th, the symposium of Sichuan military leaders in Spring Festival was held in Chengdu. After briefly introducing the situation and economic and social development in Sichuan Province, Wang Dongming said that since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, Sichuan has gone through an extraordinary development process. Facing the severe and complicated economic situation and the special challenges of multiple difficulties, under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee with the Supreme Leader as the general secretary, the provincial party committee and the provincial government have United and led the people of all ethnic groups in the province to overcome difficulties, forge ahead, thoroughly implement the "four comprehensive" strategic layout, and actively adapt to the new normal of economic development. Overall, the province has shown a good situation of sustained and healthy economic development, continuous improvement of people’s livelihood, harmonious and stable overall social situation, and energetic cadres and the masses.

Wang Dongming said that the 13th Five-Year Plan period is the decisive stage for building a well-off society in an all-round way. To accomplish the sacred mission entrusted by the CPC Central Committee, the Central Military Commission and President Xi, it is inseparable from the concern of leaders at all levels in Sichuan Province, the support of local party committees and governments, and the support of the people of all ethnic groups. We must bear in mind President Xi’s entrustment, follow the "four comprehensive" strategic layout, regard the resident as our hometown and the masses as our relatives, take it as our duty to support local economic and social development, always share weal and woe with the people, work in solidarity, actively support and participate in Sichuan’s economic and social construction, and take the lead and shoulder heavy responsibilities in urgent and dangerous tasks such as anti-terrorism, stability, poverty alleviation, emergency rescue and disaster relief, and take practical actions for the people of Sichuan.

Zhao Zongqi’s resume

Zhao Zongqi, male, Han nationality, born in 1955, Bin County, Heilongjiang Province, party member of the Communist Party of China, joined the army in 1970 and was promoted to the rank of general on July 31, 2015. He is currently the commander of the western theater of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army.

Zhao Zongqi, who joined the army in 1970, started as a soldier, reconnaissance squad leader and acting platoon leader in the 14th Army of Chengdu Military Region. In 1979, he participated in the self-defense counterattack against Vietnam. Later, he served as military attache in Tanzania and brigade commander of the 52nd Mountain Infantry Brigade in Xizang Military Region. Zhu Fuxi was born in Linhai, Zhejiang Province in 1955. Party member, CPC.

He joined the army in December 1974 and first served in the Nanjing Military Region. He served as Secretary-General of the Political Department of the Nanjing Military Region and Director of the Political Department of the 12th Army. He is currently a political commissar of the Western Theater of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army.

Zhu Fuxi served as the former Secretary-General of the General Political Department and the Director of the Political Department of the Air Force. In 2011, Zhu Fuxi was promoted to the rank of Air Force Lieutenant General.
