[Going to the Grassroots in the Spring Festival] The last flight of instructor Meng Qingdong

Cctv news(News broadcast): During the Spring Festival this year, Meng Qingdong, a flight instructor of a brigade of the Shijiazhuang Flight Academy of the Air Force, will stop flying when he reaches the highest age limit for fighter pilots. Before the order is issued, Ming Chen, his close disciple, as the first batch of air force students who modified the Jiao -10 aircraft, is at the critical stage of the assessment of this new type of aircraft. After graduation, these students will directly enter the third and fourth generation aircraft units in the first line and become a fighter. Meng Qingdong spent 45 hours with them before his last flight.

A 45-hour assessment of a brigade of Shijiazhuang Flight Academy of the Air Force is underway. In today’s mission, instructor Meng Qingdong successfully completed all subjects, while his apprentice Ming Chen was locked by the radar because he arrived at the attack point 2 seconds late, and the mission failed.

The next day’s assessment content was Ming Chen’s best free air combat, which was also his chance to prove himself. Hao Xu, the deputy battalion chief, judged his achievements by observing Ming Chen’s operation in the back cabin.

In front of the tower, the pilots were doing the deduction before the third assessment. From Ming Chen’s every move, Meng Qingdong found that he was somewhat depressed.

Master’s words strengthened Chen Ming’s confidence in flying. In this mission, Chen Ming changed his impetuous past and successfully completed the assessment. When he and Master landed in separate planes, it also meant the end of Meng Qingdong’s flying career.

In the 28 years of flying teaching in Meng Qingdong, more than 40 students hovering on the edge of grounding have been sent to the blue sky, and many of them have grown into the backbone of the air force.
